Donations sought for funeral expenses in triple-homicide; ex-boyfriend is charged

A fund-raising campaign to pay for funeral expenses for the Jersey City woman and her two young children who were stabbed to death early Thursday morning has been established.

The woman’s ex-boyfriend, 31-year-old Napoleon Romero-Anduray, has been charged with three counts of murder and weapons offenses. He is currently being treated at a local hospital for injuries he suffered during attack at a Hutton Street apartment building.

It is expected the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office would file a motion for a detention hearing to detain the accused killer through his prosecution. It was not immediately known if a date has been set.

The victims have been identified as 31-year-old Luisa Urbano, her 9-year-old son, Juan Martin Urbano, and her 5-year-old daughter, Diana Ramirez. Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said the mom was pronounced dead at the scene and the children were pronounced dead later at the hospital.

A GoFundMe.com account has raised nearly $20,000 as of 1:25 p.m. Friday. The account was created by a person who identified herself at Luisa Urbano’s aunt.

The donations would be used to send their bodies to their homeland of Colombia, the post said.

Urbano and her family moved to Jersey City from Colombia a couple years ago, but struggled here and she was looking forward to returning to her home country, the New York Post reported.

“This tragedy has left an immense void in our family,” the aunt said. “We are from Colombia and we need to take them back to our country, where their loved ones can say goodbye to them as they deserve.”
