The percent of newly-listed homes increased compared to last year.

The number of newly listed homes in New Jersey increased by 5.85% in January compared to this time last year, putting it 36th in the nation, according to data from Realtor.com

A total of 6,444 homes were added to the housing market statewide in January.

Idaho, Arizona and Iowa saw the most significant growth in newly listed homes compared to last year.

According to a recent Redfin report, though homeowners are listing their properties on the market, fewer people are purchasing homes.

In the report, Charles Wheeler, a Redfin agent based in San Diego, said, “I’m seeing a lot more inventory hit the market than I have in past years.”
