N.J. homeowner fights off knife-wielding intruder during home invasion

Evesham police are looking for a masked man who was carrying a knife when he broke into a home last week before fleeing when a resident tried to fight him off.

The would-be robber got into an waiting getaway car when police arrived following the break-in at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Evesham police said.

The homeowner told police the man ran out the back door when police arrived at the home in Willow Ridge Village.

After reviewing surveillance footage, police said the man fled in a white four-door sedan, traveling from Buckley Lane onto Clinton Lane and then onto Willow Ridge Road.

The young man is about 5-foot-11 and was wearing dark clothing.
