Mother Nature hasn’t been too kind to New Jersey snow fans this winter. A quick look at the ground and the latest statistics tell the story of what has been the second least-snowy season on record across the state.

Based on data from early October through the end of February — not including the light snow that fell overnight Monday into early Tuesday morning — the Garden State has received an average of only 3 inches of snow this entire snow season, according to data from the office of New Jersey State Climatologist David Robinson, based at Rutgers University.
