The Mets might not have made it to the postseason if it wasn’t for left-hander Jose Quintana’s efforts last season.
Yet, despite what he meant to the team, after losing two starters to injury in spring training, they didn’t make the call to bring him back. Now, he’s found a new home with the Milwaukee Brewers, according to Robert Murray of FanSided.
The details of the deal have not been revealed yet, but according to Murray, Quintana has signed a one-year contract with the team.

The 36-year-old left-hander played a big role in the Mets making the postseason last year. In his last six regular-season starts, he went 4-1, allowing 3 ER in 36 1/3 innings (0.74 ERA) with 29 strikeouts.
This continued into the postseason, where he helped the Mets eliminate the Brewers in Game 3 of the NL Wild Card Series. Quintana pitched six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and a walk, and handing over the bullpen a 0-0 tie, setting up first baseman Pete Alonso’s epic game-winning home run.
“I’m really proud of this,” Quintana told reporters after the game. “I remember Mendy and Jeremy (Hefner) told me, ‘At some point, you’re going to throw in the elimination game. So just be ready.’ I was ready.”
Quintana’s dominance continued in Game 4 of the NL Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies, where he threw another five scoreless innings with six strikeouts.
His incredible postseason run ended in Game 4 of the NL Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, who drove Quintana out of the game after 3 1/3 innings, scoring five runs against him.
It’s the most runs he’d given up in close to two months. It also ended his two-year run with the Mets, where he made 44 career starts and posted a 3.70 ERA.
