The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s lottery drawing has increased to an estimated $272 million with a cash option of $128.2 million.

The winning numbers were: 2, 23, 36, 44, 49. Powerball: 25. Power Play 3X.

No one across the country hit Wednesday’s $249 million jackpot. There were also no second-prize, $1 million tickets sold nationally.

In New Jersey, a third-prize, $50,000 ticket was purchased at Fresh Grocer on Pompton Avenue in Cedar Grove, Essex County, lottery officials said. The lucky ticket matched four numbers plus the Powerball.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 28, 48, 55, 60 and 62. The Powerball drawn was 20 with a Power Play of 2x.

In addition, no one won Wednesday’s secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing. Those winning numbers were: 21, 26, 45, 46 and 64. The Double Play number was: 11.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers but not the Powerball and win at least $1 million. The odds of winning a third prize of at least $50,000 are 913,129 to 1.

Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $215 million with a cash option of $100.9 million.
