When does ‘Survivor’ season 48 premiere? See the date, time, and cast

“Survivor” Wednesdays are back again!

Season 48 of “Survivor” premieres on CBS and Paramount+ on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 8 p.m. EST. The season will kick off with a two-hour premiere episode.

Longtime “Survivor” host Jeff Probst shared some insight into the new season during an interview with Entertainment Weekly published on Friday, Feb. 21.

“One thing that I think is a little unique about this season is the number of partnerships that form pretty early and how different they are,” he teased. “There are partnerships that are very public, and there are partnerships that are very private. There are partnerships you could almost assume might happen, and then there are partnerships that nobody would ever predict.”

Probst is also excited about a particular cast member. Season 48’s Eva Erickson is the first openly autistic person to compete on the show.

“Her parents were told when she was born, ‘Really, the best you can hope for is for your daughter to marry somebody else with autism, because that’s what her life will be about.’ And her parents said, ‘We’re not satisfied with that, so we’re going to keep digging,’” Probst told EW of Eva. “Cut to Eva now — she’s a PhD candidate, played men’s hockey in college, and is now taking on ‘Survivor.’ It’s a pretty inspirational story already.”

In addition to the casting first, season 48 may also feature some unprecedented gameplay, based on the trailer.

“This is a historic moment,” Probst says at a tribal council in the teaser.
