Matt Arco is a political reporter for NJ.com and covers the state’s governor and its Legislature. He’s covered New Jersey politics for more than a decade. His work includes following former Gov. Chris Christie across the country in the lead-up to his first presidential campaign and then immersed himself on the 2016 campaign trail. He’s since covered the state’s current governor, Phil Murphy, while also paying close attention to Statehouse politics that affect New Jerseyans' daily lives. He’s been a journalist for nearly 15 years, primarily focused on political reporting. His first job out of college was for a daily newspaper in New Mexico. Raised in Rockland County, New York, Matt graduated from the University at Albany with a bachelor’s degree in 2009.
