The Powerball jackpot for Monday’s lottery drawing has jumped to an estimated $279 million with a cash option of $131.5 million.
The winning numbers were: 18, 20, 50, 52 and 56. The Powerball drawn was 20 with a Power Play of 2X.
No one across the country hit Saturday’s $265 million jackpot. A second-prize, $1 million ticket was bought in Michigan.
No one in New Jersey won more than $300 with a single ticket.
Saturday’s winning numbers were: 2, 23, 36, 44 and 49. The Powerball drawn was 25 with a Power Play of 3X.
In addition no one won the secondary, $10 million jackpot. Those winning numbers were: 6, 19, 37, 66 and 68. The Double Play number drawn was 6.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers but not the Powerball and win at least $1 million. The odds of winning a third prize of at least $50,000 are 913,129 to 1.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $215 million with a cash option of $100.9 million.
