“General Hospital” is introducing a brand new character, and some viewers might recognize the actor portraying him.

Actor Bryce Durfee will make his debut as the new recurring character Vaughn during the Friday, March 7, episode of “General Hospital.” Vaughn will serve as Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) new handler at the World Security Bureau.

Durfee has made several guest appearances on popular television series over the years. He appeared on an episode of “Yellowstone” in 2024, an episode of “Hacks” in 2022, an episode of “Man With a Plan” in 2020, and an episode of “Last Man Standing” in 2013.

Durfee also had a five-episode arc as serial killer Jonah Greeenway in “9-1-1″ and starred as Beckett in the Passionflix series “Driven.”

Prior to landing the role as Vaughn, Durfee auditioned for “General Hospital” several times. During an interview with Soap Opera Digest published on Monday, March 3, he recalled losing the role of Harrison Chase to his friend Josh Swickard.

“It was down to me, Josh, and I think a third guy,” Durfee said. “And the best man got it! Josh is absolutely fantastic, and I was really excited to run into him on set recently.”

Now that he’s finally part of the “General Hospital” family, Durfee told Soap Opera Digest that his first day on set was “a whirlwind.”

“I was anxious in the sense that I didn’t know what to expect, because I knew the soap world moves fast,” he said. “I kind of felt like I got thrown into a washing machine and I got spit out an hour later. That’s kind of how I remember that first day. I can’t wait to see how it turned out!”

It’s possible that Durfee’s “General Hospital” character will spark a romance with Josslyn, even though she’s still grieving the death of her boyfriend Dex Heller (Evan Hofer). But as she throws herself into training at the WSB, will new love bloom with her handler?

“General Hospital” airs on ABC on weekdays at 3 p.m. EST. Episodes can be streamed on Hulu the next day.
