The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $295 million, with a cash option of $139 million.
The winning numbers were: 24, 28, 40, 63 and 65. The Powerball drawn was 20 with a Power Play of 3X.
No one across the nation hit Monday’s $279 million jackpot. There were also no second-prize, $1 million tickets sold.
In New Jersey, a third-prize, $50,000 ticket was purchased at at Township News Centre on Mount Holly Road in Burlington Township, lottery officials said. The lucky ticket matched four regular numbers plus the Powerball number.
Monday’s winning numbers were: 18, 20, 50, 52 and 56. The Powerball drawn was 20 with a Power Play of 2X.
In addition, no one hit the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing. Those winning numbers were: 9, 34, 54, 67 and 69. The Double Play number drawn was 11.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers but not the Powerball and win at least $1 million. The odds of winning a third prize of at least $50,000 are 913,129 to 1.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $233 million, with a cash option of $110.5 million.
